Hey you guys. Lately I've been thinking about leaving deviantART and moving over to Flickr. HOLD UP. No drama, please. I'm not mad at any of you. I don't think that's even possible.

My reason for wanting to move is that I don't have the time for dA anymore. Quite frankly, I have hundreds and hundreds of both messages and deviations that I haven't gotten around to looking at. And the numbers increase everyday. I feel really guilty for not replying to comments and commenting on your deviations. I really do.

I don't have the time to upload deviations anymore either. With school starting on the 11th, I'm not sure if I'll even have time to check dA on the weekends. We get homework by the loads on weekends and I'm also thinking about starting a photography club at my school. So that'll take up my time as well.

But if I move to Flickr... it would be much easier just to upload a batch of photos and go. And I wouldn't neccessarily have to worry about the photo being perfect or artsy at all. Besides, Flickr is just so much more simple to use. I may buy a pro account, but we'll see.

So... I guess I'll be working on moving over there over the next couple of days. Here's another dA account I set up ( ~rylleighpaige ) so that you guys can know when I update my Flickr. I may also start a blog for updates and such. So keep an eye out for that as well. Watch that new dA account if you want to keep updated, and if not, just don't watch it. I'll keep watching, commenting, and faving from that account... but not as much as I used to.

I hope you guys will understand. I really hate leaving dA, but I just do not have the time to be as active as I would like to be.

Believe Artistic Challenge

Do you all remember that 100 themes artistic challenge? I never participated, but it was interesting to watch others attempt to complete it. I never wanted to do it simply because when I draw, it comes out better when I draw straight from my heart. In other words, I need to feel strongly about something before I dedicate long hours to it. That's why my artwork involves my dreams.

So, I've decided I'm going to start my own challenge. One I know I'll be able to complete. I'll represent the meaning of the melody and lyrics through visuals. I think I could really create something great here.

I'd also really like to see other people join in! Here are some tips:

(1) Complete it any way you like. Photography, traditional media, literature, digital media, pixels, etc. Anything.
(2) And you don't have to make them include Killer Whales either! Just submit whatever you think best represents the idea!
(3) If you don't own the Believe soundtrack, interpret the titles of the songs and do it that way!
